But in the website of Urduseek the word Shameela is given, with the meanng: Good Quality, virtue, excellence, talent,dispositions, custom, pertaining to the north. The last-mentoned meaning suggests that the word has its root in the word Shumal- North, and from this it may be inferred that Shameel means someone pertaining to the North. And the North has derivative meaning of steadfastness. The word Shumaal, from which I presume Shameel is derived, is Arabic.
