Salamu alikum,
Dear site users,
First of all,I am intrested in old Urdu and Hindi poetry. And since I don't speak none these languages ,I was advised to go to India to learn the language there..I am actually a university student in my last year.I was wandering if you can advise me where to go,what knid of job opportunity I can find?...Bearig in mind that I am specialising in English literature and have a 3 years of experience in teaching ,plus two years in tourist guiding.By the way I'v heard that some schools or institutions there needed teachers of Arabic and I am a native speaker .Anyway,if anyone can help or at least comment on the previous,I'll be grateful.thanks in advance.

plz do not get confused between urdu/hindi
they lady who wanted to learn urdu and hindi poetry

Actually urdu and hindi are very close as far as speaking is concerned. But the script are entirely different. urdu is writtien in arabic or persian script while hindi is written in deonagri. Actually I want to make it clear that you do not get confused b/w urdu and hindi. In india with a little change urdu is the language of speaking while in pakistan it is completly spoken and read with persian script. It is advisable if you are interested in learning urdu/hindi try pakistani institues. All the historical poetry is said in urdu not hindi. there is alphabet "ghain" also in arabic it is not available in hindi script so the poetry of urdu poets ghalib and mir have been defaced using hindi script. But urdu/hindi is popular in arab world because of indian movies where they use origional urdu and very few hindi words. this is the reason people relate urdu with india. anyway there are many institutes in india for pure urdu.
A response
First off you would need to choose what you want to learn. Urdu poetry is totally different from Hindi poetry. That's like comparing aeroplanes to worms. You may find remote areas in India to study Urdu, those places were Muslims once ruled from or currently reside. It would be the best place to learn Hindi though, you would need to most likely study Sanskrit at the same time. To become an expert you may have to also study at the temples; I hear the pundits use good Hindi.
In Pakistan there are many institutions for the study of Urdu. You will most likely learn from works of Iqbal and Ghalib.
Another note: Everyone, even in India, considers Urdu to be a superior language for expression. Even the Indian Bollywood movies try their best to make their songs using Urdu words. Hindi poetry never achieved high ranks even in the Hindu society.
